Jeff’s Daily Post – 10 strong miles in my short shorts!

It’s funny how much my running gear has changed over the last year and a half.  I wrote a post earlier about my shoes and my other gear was just as bad.  When I started running I was wearing old sweat pants, cotton t-shirts, cheap socks and an old Timex watch.  I soon found out (with some prodding from Tamara) that the right gear really does make a difference.  It is amazing how much good socks, good shoes and actual running pants/shorts and tops make a difference.  It not only makes you feel good but it makes you look good too!  I have purchased more than a few nice Nike running outfits for my races.  When I run on the treadmill I only run in shorts (no shirt).  It is much more comfortable for me and one less thing I have to wash.  I’ve been running in old running shorts from Target that I have purchased over the years but as I sweat they have been getting heavy so I broke down and bought some runners short shorts!  These things are not very expensive but I wore them for the first time today and they felt great.  I doubt they will make an appearance at a race (I like my shorts a little longer) but who knows.  All I know is that thanks to my short shorts and Garth Brooks on the iPod, I ran a strong 10.29 miles this morning.  Have a great day!
