Jeff’s Post – Love me some Twitter!

Well, I haven’t really been away from the blog for too long but it seems like a long time.  We tend to post more as we get ready for races and in between life just seems to get in the way.  We’ve definitely been more active on Twitter lately (follow us @werrunners).  Tamara and I both have short attention spans so Twitter is perfect for us.  I love following all the Twitter traffic when we are at a race (@RunRocknRoll events are the best) and I love following the progress of others when they are racing – I find it motivating.  I’ve also used Twitter so many times to ask running related and travel related questions (I always get answers).  It was amazing to watch all the Twitter traffic around the New York Marathon, you definitely got a sense of what was going on.  The running community on Twitter is second to none.  If you want to get great tips and stay motivated follow runners on Twitter.

Dorothy over @mileposts has put together two great lists – They can be found here and here.  And don’t forget about #Runchat another great way to say in touch with runners!

Now a quick week recap – I took Saturday and Sunday off from running.  The first weekend break I’ve had in ages.  We had great weather in Maryland this weekend so I took advantage of it and went on a nice long bike ride on Saturday.  The more I’m on the bike the more I enjoy it and I definitely want to incorporate it more into my training.  It was amazing how good my legs felt after a few days off from the pounding.  I’m going to rethink my training a bit as I head into the end of this year.  I came across an article today that Dean Karnazes wrote about Avoiding the Black Hole – I think I’m there at times and really want to make a change and run smarter, harder and really understand and embrace recovery.

Thanks for taking the time to read our ramblings – Happy Running – Tweet – Tweet!
